Barbara writes about Tulum as being timeless and is the place where that mythology meets the real world: storms arrive, creation moves, and beauty is shaped through the rain.
Between sunlight and shadow, she begins to write — not as an image, but as a voice.
What follows is her reflection: a poem about resilience, weathered joy, and learning to create one’s own sunshine. “Timeless Tulum”
Skin appears salt-washed and sun-warmed, glowing with restraint rather than excess — a ritual of light, water, and touch. Hair is worn wet and wind-marked, moving freely between control and surrender, echoing the rhythm of tides and time. A celestial veil — mineral, luminous, and intimate — grounding the body while lifting the spirit. Make-up and hair follow a philosophy of quiet power: nothing imposed, everything revealed. Beauty here is not decoration, but presence — ancient, modern, and enduring.

"I’ve been thinking about how to describe Gavin O’Neil’s importance in my career and I lack words… Gavin is a very rare soul. He is capable of seeing one’s beauty and elevating it to its maximum capacity.
Every time we are together on set, or on the beach, we create magic and timeless images.
The last time we got together to create the images you see on this story, was the most special of them all…
As we walked to the beach a full storm was moving in. We were so excited to work together again and as he always does, he looked at me and said… “The rain is coming, but we will make something beautiful,
we have enough time…”
And we did. Gavin teaches me that we create our own sunshine. His talent and beautiful heart give me home in such a superficial industry.
The rain hit us as we were shooting and we broke down laughing…
It was magical…
My first time in Tulum was very sunny. It was back in 2013,
when I first had the joy of shooting with mister Gavin O’Neil.
I was flying high… I had just walked the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show for the second time in a row. The VS team made a beautiful segment that was televised to millions and millions of people all around the world, (Including Gavin And Myself as we watched the show together in Tulum with his team). The segment celebrated my presence and work as an “Angel”, changing how the industry saw me and giving me a level of recognition I hadn’t yet experienced… After the shoot we danced under the stars, swam in the ocean…
Our shoot became the cover of several magazines. There were paparazzi photos all over the internet from our shoot on the beach… Those were sunny days…
Since then so much has happened. I continued my journey with five more VS Fashion Shows. Then I got married, had my beautiful daughter, and life took a challenging turn during the pandemic…
The whole world turned gray. We all faced so many challenges…
I wrote a poem about that experience.
As I now experience sunshine again, I have learnt to celebrate the rain."

BEAUTY IN THE STORM
When my life was gray…
I prayed and prayed…
For sunny days…
One can’t deny…
The joy of a blue sky…
Cotton candy clouds…
Sweetness all around…
I wondered…
Is there beauty in a storm?
Thunder sounds…
Wind moving all around…
Drops of GOD falling down…
Miraculously blessing the ground…
A divine nourishment…
Manifesting the flourish…
I can feel…
The beauty in the storm…
Blindly searching for pleasure…
Our egos can’t measure…
In the eye of the hurricane…
That the rain isn’t in vain…
Welcome the pain…
For to be reborn…
We must go through the storm.
