BECOMING THROUGH LOVE
Some stories begin long before they are given a name.
Before PERAMORE became a shared vision of music, love and transformation, there was VITA—the very first face of LUMEN. In many ways, our journeys began together. While our paths unfolded in different directions—hers through modelling and performance, mine through styling and eventually creating LUMEN—we continued to grow alongside one another, each discovering new ways of expressing who we are.
When I first chose VITA for LUMEN’s inaugural cover story, it wasn’t because she fit a trend or embodied a particular aesthetic. It was because she possessed something that cannot be styled into existence: an effortless presence. There was a quiet confidence in her, a natural kindness, and a warmth that filled the room without demanding attention. Our first editorial wasn’t about constructing a character. It was about allowing her to simply be herself.
We deliberately stripped everything back. Less fashion, fewer distractions, more honesty. Her beauty has never relied on embellishment. It lives somewhere between grace and rebellion—defined by striking, sculptural features softened by genuine openness. Yet anyone who knows VITA understands that another side emerges the moment the music starts: instinctive, fearless and unapologetically alive.
Looking back now, it feels almost inevitable that music would become another language through which she tells her story.
PERAMORE, the project she shares with Jack Fresia, is more than a musical collaboration. It is an exploration of love as a creative force—a space where connection becomes both the subject and the process. In a cultural landscape often driven by speed, distance and performance, PERAMORE speaks of presence, vulnerability and the radical act of choosing one another again and again.
Their philosophy is beautifully simple: love is not a destination but a continual process of becoming. Through their music they invite listeners to remain open—to question fear, to embrace transformation and to trust that love, in all its forms, has the power to shape who we become.
For LUMEN, this conversation feels less like an introduction and more like the continuation of a story that has been unfolding for years. This time, however, the lens turns away from fashion and towards the deeper questions: What does it mean to create from love? Can intimacy become an artistic practice? And what happens when the person you choose also becomes your greatest collaborator?
PERAMORE isn’t just a music act—it already has a philosophy.
Not a biography, but a reflection on why love has almost disappeared from contemporary culture. We celebrate ambition, productivity and individuality, yet rarely speak about devotion, trust or choosing the same person every day. Then introduce PERAMORE as artists who aren’t selling romance—they’re exploring love as transformation.
1 — LOVE AS A DECISION
You say PERAMORE was born from love. Was there a moment when you realized your relationship had become something larger than just the two of you?
Vita: Actually music brought us together. We were in same rave family in Amsterdam and then on NYE I heard Jack playing and literally got pulled in by his music. I stayed behind him dancing like crazy, he even tried to kiss me and I was like “what you doing? keep playing!” His friends were coming up to him asking if I was his girlfriend already haha. Love was in the air. Once I heard him play, I felt that instant connection. From the beginning I could see life full of laughter, dancing , music and love. I was going through a nasty break up and Jack was the first person who took my pain away. We started seeing each other. Long distance relationship. A year later on my birthday I asked him as gift to create an album together “One Last Dream” . From our studio sessions live sets were born. And from there Peramore.
Jack: 1 I think it was meant to be from the very beginning. I’ve always been inspired by Vita’s taste in music, and I’ve always been very open to her feedback throughout my production process. In a way, my creative process and Vita have been closely connected from the start. So the development of Peramore feels like something that was always meant to happen — we simply allowed it to evolve naturally.
2 — CONSCIOUS LOVE
You speak about “choosing each other again and again.” What does choosing someone actually look like on ordinary days, when inspiration disappears?
Vita: Love needs to be built to last. Like having a home. You need to maintain and repear it to keep it nice. You can’t expect it to stay the same without putting any effort. It’s a choice. Choice to be with that person, to give your best. It’s not easy sometimes, but love can be so rewarding.
3 — CREATION
What changes when the person writing music with you is also the person who knows you most intimately?
Jack: For me, it has become a new way for us to communicate — one that sometimes goes beyond what words can express. We usually share our feelings by talking and explaining them, but when we allow each other to be creatively free and fully immersed in the creative flow, it’s as if we’re having a completely different kind of conversation. Often, it feels even more honest and deeply resonant with who we really are. In that way, creating music together has expanded our relationship.
4 — FEAR
Your statement talks about freeing ourselves from fear. Which fears have you had to unlearn together?
Vita: Fear of trusting another and of getting hurt again. Because if you scared of everything, then you don’t get to experience this life. Jack helped me to feel safe emotionally because I can be myself and talk with him about my feelings. When you love someone, you can loose that person. But I am not scared of that. It’s inevitable part of life.5 — IDENTITY
Does PERAMORE create Jack and VITA, or do Jack and VITA create PERAMORE?
Jack: It wasn't a straightforward process. Before PERAMORE, there were simply Jack and Vita, and only after some time was PERAMORE born. But from my emotional perspective, PERAMORE was there from the very beginning, it simply hadn't yet been recognised or nurtured enough to stand on its own. Our mutual trust has been the force that allowed PERAMORE to grow, like water nourishing a plant.
5 — IDENTITY
Does PERAMORE create Jack and VITA, or do Jack and VITA create PERAMORE?
Jack: It wasn't a straightforward process. Before PERAMORE, there were simply Jack and Vita, and only after some time was PERAMORE born. But from my emotional perspective, PERAMORE was there from the very beginning, it simply hadn't yet been recognised or nurtured enough to stand on its own. 6 —PERFOR
MANCE
What do you hope people feel after one of your live sets?
Not what they hear—but what stays with them on the way home.
Vita: I love when people come afterwards to say “Wow I really felt it”. Our live performance is different from Dj set since it’s all improvised. It surprises people.
I hope they feel lighter, I hope they feel more connected to themselves. I hope they feel like they went to different planet and came back.
7 —BEAUTY
Fashion often idealizes love while music often dramatizes heartbreak.
You’re trying to create something else.
What does beauty in love look like to you today?
Vita: Our music is about love. Both ups and downs. Sometimes it brings you so high and then you crush so bad. Beauty of sincere love for me in the growth it helps you to do. Every experience bad or good is here to teach you.
8 — BECOMING
You end your manifesto with one word:
“…to become.”
Become who?
Vita: To become much more than you could ever imagine! I never thought I would be a techno vocalist. Jack encouraged me to discover a voice I didn’t know I had. Through love and music, I’ve become a version of myself I couldn’t have imagined a few years ago.
Our new third EP, Interdependence coming out this august. It’s about becoming something greater than yourself—two people growing into something neither could create alone.
If someone listens to PERAMORE while falling in love, what do you hope they’ll remember years later?
Vita: I hope they listen it again after years later , close their eyes and come back to that exact moment they can remember with love.
