POKÉMON — THE MAKING OF A PERSONAL REALM
JIMMY PAUL BRINGS POKÉMON TO LONDON FASHION WEEK AW26
A HELLO BEFORE THE RUNWAY
LUMEN IN CONVERSATION WITH JIMMY PAUL
LONDON FASHION WEEK
Jimmy Paul transformed the runway into a vibrant collision of fashion, fantasy, and cultural memory, presenting a bold new collection in collaboration with the universe of Pokémon during London Fashion Week.
Known for his unmistakable visual language - fearless colour, theatrical silhouettes, and an unapologetic embrace of pop culture - Jimmy Paul continues to challenge the boundaries between fashion, performance, and entertainment. For AW26, the designer turned to the globally beloved Pokémon world, translating its energy and characters into garments that celebrate imagination as a serious creative force.
Rather than treating Pokémon as a nostalgic reference alone, Jimmy Paul approached the franchise as a shared cultural mythology. Across generations, the creatures and symbols of Pokémon have come to represent adventure, transformation, and friendship.
Themes that resonate naturally within fashion’s own language of identity and reinvention.
On the runway, bold prints, playful appliqués, and sculptural textures brought this world to life. Familiar characters appeared across garments in unexpected ways, woven into oversized silhouettes and graphic compositions that balanced humour with craftsmanship. Plush materials, vibrant surfaces, and exaggerated forms created a sense of movement and joy, as if the garments themselves carried the spirit of animation.
The result was a runway moment that felt both exuberant and intentional. Jimmy Paul has long embraced the idea that fashion should entertain as much as it inspires, and this collection reaffirmed his position as one of the industry’s most distinctive voices when it comes to merging art, fashion, and popular culture.
In a fashion landscape often dominated by restraint and minimalism, Jimmy Paul’s AW26 presentation stood as a reminder that spectacle can still hold meaning.
By bringing Pokémon into the world of high fashion, the designer reframed the beloved universe as a source of creative freedom, where fantasy becomes fabric and imagination takes shape on the runway.
For one moment during London Fashion Week, the runway became a playground of colour, memory, and possibility.
And Jimmy Paul reminded us that fashion, at its most powerful, never forgets how to dream.
BACKSTAGE: THE HAIR ARCHITECTURE BEHIND JIMMY PAUL

When a collection steps onto the runway, the audience often sees the colour, the silhouettes, the spectacle. What remains invisible is the quiet choreography happening behind the curtain — the teams translating a designer’s vision into something that can move, breathe and survive the rhythm of a fashion week schedule.
For the JimmyPaul × Pokémon presentation at London Fashion Week with Fashion Scout, that transformation happened through the hands of lead hair stylist Narad Kutowaroo and his team.
Narad approached the collaboration with curiosity. Pokémon, he admitted with a smile backstage, was not the world he initially imagined stepping into. Yet working alongside Jimmy Paul quickly shifted that perception. Jimmy’s clarity of vision, paired with a playful sense of scale, turned the process into a creative exchange.
At one point during preparations, Narad recalls Jimmy looking at a finished hairstyle and responding with disarming honesty: “I like it… but can we make it ten times bigger?”
The comment was delivered half-seriously, half with laughter — yet it perfectly captured the spirit of the collection. Exaggeration, colour and character were central to the world Jimmy was building on the runway.
But backstage reality requires balance. Because the show was part of the tightly choreographed Fashion Scout schedule, many models were walking in multiple presentations that day. The challenge became finding a middle ground: how to translate anime-inspired volume and personality while keeping the hair adaptable enough for the next show waiting just around the corner.
Working with UNITE Haircare, Narad and the team engineered styles that hinted at animated exaggeration without relying on excessive product — shapes that held their form, yet could still move naturally.
It was a technical puzzle, solved in the fast-paced theatre of backstage fashion week: where creativity, time and practicality meet in the mirror just moments before the runway lights rise.

Press release post show LFW A/W 2026
On Saturday, February 21st,
JimmyPaul unveiled the Pokémon Prêt à Porter collection exclusively for Pokémon Center, in collaboration with DIFUZED. This collection celebrates the vibrant, imaginative universe of Pokémon, where JimmyPaul’s expressive, whimsical vision meets the iconic characters beloved around the world. As fans across the globe celebrate
30 years of Pokémon., JimmyPaul first presented a high fashion collection ‘ROAM’, during
London Fashion Week inspired by his favorite Pokémon.
From this bold runway presentation, a wearable prêt à porter line emerged,
translating couture creativity into pieces accessible to Trainers for everyday wear.
For the original show, JimmyPaul designed immersive “worlds,”
each inspired by a specific Pokémon and reflecting a distinct facet of the brand’s DNA. For the Pokémon Center collection, three of these imaginative worlds were carefully selected.
Pikachu takes center stage in this world, with looks inspired by Japanese workwear and the bold, vibrant energy of the 1980s. Graphic, confident, and unmistakably playful, this chapter celebrates the character’s enduring global appeal.
Eevee inspires a softer, yet equally confident narrative. Cottagecore romance, floral dreamscapes, and modern cute power merge to create a style that is gentle in palette but strong in expression. Finally, the kinetic energy of Mewtwo and Mew a universe of pink hues, car racing influences, ’90s streetwear, and an aesthetic that is both bold and approachable, blending
toughness with playful charm.
The JimmyPaul x Pokémon collection is a joyful celebration, arriving as Pokémon marks 30 years, offering Trainers a unique way to engage with a high fashion vision reimagined for everyday wear. It is where creativity, pop culture, and couture intersect inviting audiences to step into a universe both colourful and iconic.
The collection is available now exclusively via PokémonCenter in the U.S, CA, UK, NZ and AU
Amsterdam based designer JimmyPaul will present his AW26 collection, Roam, at London Fashion Week this February, unveiling a special collaboration with global cultural icon Pokémon in partnership with renowned licensee company Difuzed, which enabled the development of the commercial collection.
Rooted in childhood nostalgia and the designer’s lifelong love of Pokémon, Roam is an immersive journey through the DNA of the JimmyPaul brand, unfolding across 10 distinct “worlds,” each inspired by different Pokémon types, personalities, and visual languages. Drawing from JimmyPaul’s 30 favourite Pokémon, the collection translates character traits into sculptural silhouettes, playful textures, and bold colour stories.
Alongside the runway presentation, a JimmyPaul × Pokémon product range has been created in collaboration with Difuzed, translating key visual elements from the catwalk into wearable, consumer facing pieces designed to extend the world of Roam beyond the runway.
“Growing up, Pokémon shaped my imagination. I dreamed of becoming a Pokémon Trainer; my favourites being Fairy type, and creating my own universe,” says JimmyPaul. “This collaboration feels like bringing those childhood dreams to life.”
Mathieu Galante, Senior Director of Licensing for The Pokémon Company International, adds, “We are thrilled to be working with JimmyPaul at London Fashion Week. His creativity and inspiring design, combined with Pokémon’s sense of fun and adventure, is what has brought this partnership to life and is sure to delight fans of all ages.”
For nearly three decades, Pokémon has remained one of the world’s most popular and successful entertainment brands. During that time, it has captivated multiple generations and continues to bring joy to fans worldwide, remaining at the forefront of popular culture and mainstream conversation.
Gilbert El Kalaani, CEO of Difuzed, says, “This collaboration is a clear example of how fashion, fandom, and culture can meet with authenticity. As a longterm partner of Pokémon, our role at Difuzed is to represent what the brand has meant to fans for 30 years and to celebrate that legacy on a global fashion stage, while helping creative visionaries like JimmyPaul translate those worlds into bold, modern expressions that resonate with fans in the realworld.”
Beyond the Pokémon references, the collection reflects a broad spectrum of cultural influences, including
Indonesian heritage, Japanese workwear, ’90s surf culture, car racing, ’80s postmodernism, horror cinema, and 2000s punk, unified through themes of memory, identity, and personal evolution.
Sustainability remains central to the brand’s ethos, with most looks crafted from deadstock fabrics, vintage
materials, and reworked textiles from previous collections, reinforcing the narrative of reinvention and individuality. With Roam, JimmyPaul invites the audience into a world where fantasy, fashion, and personal history collide, offering a tactile, emotional runway experience designed to spark curiosity, desire, and connection.
