BACKSTAGE AT AADNEVIK
THE BEAUTY OF STRENGTH
London — Behind the runway of AADNEVIK, the atmosphere carried a quiet sense of focus before the first look stepped into the light. The Autumn/Winter 2026 collection, inspired by the mythic resilience of Joan of Arc, explored the intersection of power and delicacy — a theme that extended seamlessly into the beauty direction backstage.
Working in collaboration with Kydra Le Salon and Code8 Beauty, the beauty team shaped a visual language that reflected the spirit of the collection: strength rendered through elegance.
Hair carried a sense of disciplined softness. Shapes were refined rather than excessive, allowing the models to embody a quiet authority that echoed the narrative of Joan of Arc — a figure often remembered for her armour, yet equally defined by faith and inner conviction. The styling framed the face with controlled structure, creating silhouettes that felt modern yet timeless.
Make-up followed a similar philosophy. Using Code8 Beauty, skin remained luminous and natural, highlighting the individuality of each model rather than masking it. Subtle definition around the eyes and a polished complexion allowed the garments’ intricate textures and embellishments to take centre stage, while still holding their own presence within the overall look.
Backstage at AADNEVIK revealed the delicate equilibrium between couture and beauty. Stylists, artists and designers worked with the quiet precision that couture demands, each gesture contributing to the final image that would appear on the runway only moments later.
The result was not simply preparation for a show, but the construction of a character — a modern heroine moving between romance and resilience.
For a few moments behind the curtain, the mythology of Joan of Arc was reimagined not through armour, but through hair, skin and presence.

AADNEVIK
The Autumn/Winter 2026 show by AADNEVIK was inspired by Jeanne d’Arc (Joan of Arc). The designers aimed to reinterpret the historical figure not just as a symbol of the past, but as a modern embodiment of courage and feminine strength. “We wanted to create pieces that reawaken the mythic figure of Jeanne… a testament to the might of spirit and divine will.” The collection explored heroism, spiritual strength, and feminine complexity, expressed through layered silhouettes, corsetry and sculptural construction. The colour palette included black, soft pink, shimmering silver and white, reflecting both the purity and power associated with the legendary figure.
AADNEVIK was founded in London by Hila Aadnevik and Kristian Aadnevik, who are known for combining couture techniques with ready-to-wear silhouettes. Their work often balances romantic softness with sharp structure, blending luxurious materials such as lace, leather and intricate embellishments.
