"Nothing Pure Can Stay"—Róisín Pierce’s Ethereal Vision at Paris Fashion Week
At Paris Fashion Week, Róisín Pierce unveiled Nothing Pure Can Stay, a collection as fleeting and delicate as a snowflake—a meditation on purity, transience, and the quiet power of craftsmanship. Presented within the grand halls of the Irish Embassy in Paris, the collection evoked a world where tradition and modernity intertwined, each piece a sculptural whisper of Irish heritage reimagined.

In this sacred space, backstage was a symphony of ethereal artistry. Lead makeup artist Kanako Takase, using Addiction Tokyo, crafted porcelain-like skin—luminous, weightless, almost untouchable. A veil of white swept over the inner nose and eyes, catching the light at the brow arch, while lips remained soft and natural. Shingo Shibata sculpted hair into fluid, wet-look strands, some heads were adorned with upside-down white balled posies tied with ribbons—delicate, like frost-kissed blooms suspended in time.

As the models glided through the embassy’s opulent rooms, they embodied the ephemeral nature of Pierce’s vision—angelic figures wrapped in layers of linen, intricate crochet, and ruched white velvet, their movements as weightless as falling snow. A sculptural dance between fabric and form, each look felt like it could dissolve at any moment, a fleeting imprint of beauty on the air.

Through her continuous exploration of fabric manipulation and texture, Róisín Pierce offers a fresh perspective on femininity and tradition. With Nothing Pure Can Stay, she not only captured the poetry of impermanence but also reaffirmed her place as a designer who honour’s the past while creating an ethereal, otherworldly future.
